Characters mailed for issues 1 and 2 above.

Issue 3, some characters only showing the attack lines, I've managed to find out what causes that. The characters that had this issue were ones I had created several months ago and not viewed in character builder since then. They were coming through in Ksheet with masses of info missing. However, if I opened them up in character builder, viewed all the seperate tabs and re-saved them, they then were fine in Ksheet. I can only assume that something in character builder itself had changed since I last viewed those characters, and they needed "updating" internally in the program.

As for your last point, I unfortunatly spent most of yesterday viewing all the guild wars 2 stuff already :(

1 & 2 & 3) Would you mind sending me a .dnd4e file for a character or two that's having an issue? You can mail them to bugs@kerpow.net.

4) I added that bug last release. It's fixed on my internal build.

5) Item cards are the next big feature and 50% completed at this point.

Thanks for the feedback and grats on a slow work day :) I suggest spending time watching Guild Wars 2 beta gameplay. That's a great way to kill a day.

Just found this app today, and loving it so far. Couple of issues found though, so here's some feedback for you (Yup, i'm having a very slow work day today...)

(running version 2.0.7 on an Asus Transformer TF101 tablet, Android 3.2.1)

1) Some text is missing from the power cards - any text that is indented in the character builder is not coming through in Ksheet. This means effects on a hit, follow up attacks, and such are not showing. Seems to be true for all characters.

2) Some of my characters crash the app, seems primarily to be my level 12+ ones, so related to paragon paths maybe?

3) Some characters come through with no power details at all beyond the first lines (ie they show "unarmed, 7vs ac, 1d4+2 damage - and nothing else) in all the powers. Other info (stats, feats etc) seems to be correct.

4) the "features" list is truncated and cannot be scrolled up/down. This occurs on my tablet when i use the "stretch to fill screen" option - i can see probably 1 and a half items in the list, with the text truncating halfway through the second entry, and i cannot scroll the list. However if i run in "zoom to fill the screen" mode, the whole list is visible (but in this mode, a single power card takes up my whole 10.1" screen, which isn't exactly a viable way of using the app :) )

5) No equipment cards. Handy, but not essential at this point.

Hope this feedback helps - looking forward to future versions, and would be quite happy to pay for this product if/when the few issues are ironed out (and, of course, spread the word). If you need further feedback or details on any of my encountered problems, let me know.

Cheers.

Sweet. I'll be looking forward to seeing the new version!

And yeah, there are definite advantages to the new interface. It might just be a matter of getting used to the grid button. That was just my gut reaction after playing with it for a few minutes.

I still do like the idea of having details/skills/etc be more accessible than any given power since you'll tend to use them more (and when you need to see them you want to do it as fast as possible, like when the DM asks for a defense score or acrobatics roll), but I'm not really an interface guy so I'm not sure what the best way to do that would be.

Maybe relegate the gain/lose buttons to options under the hardware menu button like they used to be to make room for shortcuts to details/skills? Generally when you need to use those you're either at the end of your turn or it's someone else's turn and everyone already knows the pertinent information (e.g. if you're losing HP the DM already knows your defenses, etc.). I'm just spitballing though, so take this with a grain of salt.

You're definitely right that a "classic UI" option would probably be a waste of time for very little gain. Better to nail down core functionality and make your main interface as solid as possible.

Anyway, thanks for responding.

#1 & 2 are in version 2.0.7 (it will be on the market shortly)
#3) I put every card in the same swipe-able view so it was easier to go from looking at your character's stats to finding a power. That is, just swipe instead of clicking the power icon and then swiping. It also let me use the area on the top for stat interaction UI so you can adjust your hit points, surges, etc from anywhere and not just the character stats view.

That said, I might create a "Use Classic Interface" option but it's not currently on my todo list. Give the new UI a game or two to grow on you. If I hear your opinion echoed from a few other people I'll make the classic interface option more of a priority.

Long time ksheet user checking in. First off, thanks for the app. The old version was extremely useful for me and my group.

On the other hand I think this version still has a ways to go before it's really usable.

1) It absolutely NEEDS to have the calculated attack and damage expressions listed on the powers. Without that, the app is pretty useless. Currently there's not even any way to calculate them since the app doesn't list feats or weapons.

2) This was something that was missing from the old version as well, but you really need to have a character's feats listed along with the descriptions. Otherwise you end up having to look things up all the time.

3) I personally think the navigation scheme is a step backwards. Previously you only needed one tap to switch between your stats/skills/features/etc. Now you either need to swipe to find what you need (which seems to be kind of finnicky) or you need to tap grid, scan for the thing you want, and tap that too. On the other hand I think that the grid system would work just fine if it was just used for powers.

That's all I can think of for now. I hope this project works out well for you. I'd be perfectly happy to pay a couple bucks for a character sheet app that does what I need it to.

Good luck!

So far I have to say my impressions are bad. My phone upgraded the version to the new beta. First version would error out, second could not open any characters, third won't open any of my main characters but I finally got a few sub characters to open. The "classic" version was fairly intuitive and you never had to scroll around on a single sheet to get to stuff.
The latest version says it will open dnd4e files but even though I have some saved on my phone the application says it can't find them. It would be nice to eitehr be allowed to tell the application where to look or be told where I need to save them.
I have to say at this point I don't see that I will be spending even a dollar when the app goes pay.

1. This is most likely caused by having a ton of characters. In the next build it only pulls down data for the characters you attempt to view instead of all of them at once.
2. A future build will also have local loading back so you can select individual .dnd4e files on your sd card.
3. It's not on the market because I don't want to support it and I'm only keeping the apk available for those that prefer to use it. If you don't want to use the new one I suggest you uninstall updates and turn off automatic updating or enable off-market apps.
